Share the Warmth

Share the Warmth is all about Community and Community Building. In the South-West boroughs which are traditionally low-income, giving each other support and finding ways to go around poverty helps everyone get a little more hope.

Our mission is to awaken hopes and dreams in the community. We do this by fostering the overall development and success of children and youth, increasing access to food security and health and by offering work training programs which help adults into the workforce.

We have several programs in schools, with youth and also in the community, and actively seek the input of all our members while giving back to the community.

Concordia University

Concordia University, located in the cosmopolitan city of Montreal, is one of Canada’s most innovative and diverse comprehensive universities. Welcoming students and faculty with an enriching academic and social environment, Concordia offers more than 400 undergraduate and graduate programs leading to degrees, diplomas and certificates in four Faculties, a School of Graduate Studies, and a School of Extended Learning.

Atwater Library

The Atwater Library and Computer Centre is western downtown Montreal’s community library, digital learning centre and community meeting place. We are a private, non-profit institution, with a history dating back to 1828.

We have deep roots in the past of Montreal, yet we are a modern, innnovative community resource centre. More than just books, we offer courses and workshops to help young and old master technology in the digital age, a state-of-the art computer centre, literary and educational events, meeting space for community groups, and much more. We’re an independent library and a registered charity that is open to all and that depends primarily on private donations and volunteer staff.

We’re located in a national historic site officially known as the Atwater Library of the Mechanics’ Institute, near the corner of Atwater Avenue and Ste. Catherine Street.
