TNT – A Cyber Love Story

The goal of this piece is to use digital storytelling and cyber aesthetics to create a self-reflective performance which will engage issues of ethical approaches in community engaged activist art-making. We will explore notions of safety, community, and activism both online and offline, and will examine the ways that personal identities interplay with and inform the ways we interact with our overlapping online and offline communities. Through the telling of the fictionalized online love story of two artist-activists, we hope to explore Conquergood’s ethical pitfalls by positioning ourselves within this framework and using storytelling to bring to light and challenge some of our own assumptions about approaches to community building and art, while also engaging with our own experiences within the class and as artists in residence at the Atwater Library.
